Seaside weekend workshop
24-25 August 2024

Dunes of Play
The sweaty, salty, sandy, (sunny) edition

Dunes of play

We study life and build up new understandings through active questioning and doing.
Always starting from a physical and creative approach, where practice and play go hand in hand.

The theme of this Seaside edition is Dunes of Play. We steward ourself through the world. While moving we find keys that matter to us.
Keys to sustain a healthy household within ourselves and keys to nourish the relationships we have with our environment.
While walking our walks they help us to navigate. With nuanced eyes, imagination and physical body work we zoom into our ways of mapping.

Early morning sessions on the beach to wake up and check in with our zero.
Afternoons are dedicated to movement situations, games, and partnering.
In the evening we return to a slow practice and deepen into writing and dialogue.

About Jade van den Hout
Jade is active as a performer, maker and teacher in the field of art and movement, shifting between various activities and projects but always returning back to dance and a curiosity for human interaction and communication. She started her dance education at Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (2010-2014) which flowed into studying the Fighting Monkey practice (2015-now). Over the last eight years she has been involved within the company The100Hands, as a performer and co-creator, focusing on interactive and site-specific creations. In addition, she has started DaybyDay through which she carries out 24 hour research projects; aiming to create more room and opportunity for new local meetings through our dancing bodies. Currently Jade is active as an Inspire by FM instructor; guest teacher at various dance universities and movement contexts. In addition she organizes her own group workshops and individual coaching sessions in which she aims to create environments to collectively explore certain topics and questions through embodiment. These sessions are an invitation to bring our (bodily) self to the floor and explore what unfolds when being together. They provide a place of possibilities where our own authentic knowledge can be revitalized and shared together to enhance positive growth and empower connection.
