DAY BY DAY
WHAT IS CONNECTION?
-
DAYBYDAY’s first creative research explored the interpretation of connection between ourselves and our environment. The central questions were: What is connection, how can we stimulate it, and how can we make it visible? Over a twelve-week period, Jade worked with thirteen participants—young and old—around this theme.
The project was built upon three core ingredients: play, trust, and collaboration. Play served as a universal source of inspiration; thrusting was about getting to know one another through principles of partnering such as leading and listening; collaboration focused on sharing a creative common ground, being part of a bigger whole. The project aimed to offer an open yet structured space where each participant could contribute ideas, learn from each other, and was able to transcend the boundaries of their own discipline or experience.

The result of this process was showcased in the dance studio at Nieuwe Vorst Tilburg, where an intimate performance took place within the collaborative space that the participants had developed over twelve weeks.
DAYBYDAY is Jade’s first initiative (2020), centered on 24-hour research projects. As a maker, Jade seeks to create new spaces for local dialogue and meetings, viewing the dancing body as a instrument of communication. Each project is a 24-hour exploration where participants are invited to join and share the results with an audience. For Jade, the process itself becomes the product.
