During FUSION Jade explored cycles and how energy and expression move through both material and the body. She focuses on installation and material-based work alongside dance research, allowing the languages of movement and matter to inform and influence one another.

When arriving in Kaga, I saw they were dismantling the building next door (922-0254 Ishikawa, Kaga, Yamashiroonsen, Onsendori 54). This moment became a point of departure and inspired me to create new life out of destruction. As my first exploration into material-based work, the process unfolded intuitively. The resulting installation takes the form of a small altar, reflecting cycles of change and how energy can continue in new forms. I would like to thank Ryota, Mitsuru, and Ryushin for their help and for offering elements of the building that made this work possible.
Material: wooden beams and furniture, tree bark, stones, strings of Japanese rush grass, strings of a shuro houki broom, outdoor lights, cotton fabric, acrylic paint.

As part of the final FUSION exhibition in Tokyo, Jade shared a short performance exploring cycles in her body language as it moves between coziness and comfort, and power and tension, rooted in the simple joy of dancing.
In addition she collaborated with Jah' Nyah Spencer for a pop-up performance at the Yamashiro art market in Kaga. A live improvisation exploring how voice and dance can meet while allowing the intimacy of discomfort.
