Seaside

retreats

We study life and build up new understandings through active questioning and doing.
Always starting from a physical and creative approach, where practice and play go hand in hand.

We steward ourself through the world, while moving we find keys that matter to us, keys to sustain a healthy household within ourselves and to nourish the relationships we have with our environment. While walking our walks they help us to navigate. With nuanced eyes, imagination and physical body work we zoom into our ways of mapping.

Early morning sessions on the beach to wake up and check in with our zero.
Afternoons are dedicated to movement situations, games, and partnering.
In the evening we return to a slow practice and deepen into writing and dialogue.

ABOUT

This summer two seasides

We’re excited to present two Seasides this summer!
23-24 August & 27-28 August

The first retreat, taking place on August 23–24, will be guided by Jade van den Hout.
The second, from August 27–28, will be co-led by Jade van den Hout and Bryan Atmopawiro.
Throughout the weekend, they will share their practices and offer a variety of tools and perspectives to support your journey.

About Jade van den Hout
Jade is active as a performer, maker and teacher working at the intersection of movement, interaction, and experience. Her practice weaves between various activities but always returns to dance and a deep curiosity about human connection and communication.
As a teacher, Jade creates environments that invite collective exploration of how we communicate through embodied experience. Since 2017, the Fighting Monkey practice has played an increasingly significant role in shaping her physical development, creative process, and perspective on life. She is active as Inspire by Fighting Monkey instructor and regularly teaches as a guest at various dance universities and within diverse movement contexts.

Fighting Monkey is developed by founders Jozef Frucek and Linda Kapetanea through a deep study of cross motion analysis, and with the aim of understanding principles of human movement, communication and the ageing process. Jade has been recognized as an Inspire by FM ® instructor/practitioner.

About Bryan Atmopawiro
Bryan is a dance and ball sport enthusiast whose movement practice is shaped by years of diverse experience. His time with company The100Hands invited him to lead from within—using playfulness, intuition, and vulnerability as his compass. Through roles in artistic and team leadership, he learned to listen first and respond with care.

He creates spacious, interactive environments grounded in joy, presence, and co-creation. Improvisation is one of his core strengths, allowing him to meet each group as they are and shape the moment together. He encourages participants to move at their own pace—exploring what feels good, and what might be waiting just beyond the edge of comfort. His work encourages connection—with oneself, with others, and with the space between—embracing both joyful expression and the subtle discomfort that can lead to deeper insight. He holds space with care and attentiveness, trusting the group to co-create the experience together.

Now stepping into his first co-led workshop with Jade, Bryan brings curiosity, care, and a commitment to discovery—holding space to move, explore, and wake the body into connection.
